There are countless examples in the Bible where the Lord brought life back into people and situations that seemed to be far beyond the point of no return.
The Psalmist wrote, “…But You [God] will give me life again. When I am almost dead, You will keep me alive. You will make me greater than ever, and You will comfort me again… I will trust You, my God” (Psalm 71:20-22).
These verses bring me so much hope and comfort. God will never leave us nor forsake us to die from the agony of our pain and distress. He promises to give us life; abundant life by which we will accomplish greater things in His Name than we ever could in our own strength. He doesn’t want us to merely survive our emotional near-death experiences, He wants us to grow from them and be a witness to His Faithfulness and Grace in their midst. Although the purification process is often quite uncomfortable, God uses the flames in our life to refine us and mold our character for His Greater Purpose.
God promises that He will comfort us when we are weary and uphold us when our strength has been depleted. And all that He asks for in return is our trust; to believe in faith that He will bring us through the fire. Even when we don’t understand our circumstances, even when life doesn’t seem fair, even when we don’t think we have any fight left in us, we can trust the One who is Always Faithful. God doesn’t want us to get stuck in the bondage of our hurts and heartbreaks, He wants us to believe in faith that He will make a way where there seems to be no way.
Through the prophet, Ezekiel, God breathed life back into an army of dry bones and He will do the same for you and me. Are there any areas of your life that feel bound, gagged and left on the tracks of an oncoming train? God promises to heal the deepest wounds of our heart and bring life back to those areas within us that feel left for dead. Trust God today, to pull you from the pit of death and set you upon a high rock. He wants to free you from the bondage that ensnares you and give you a new life filled with His Power and Abundance so you may bring Glory to His Mighty Name.
Let us join in praise with the Psalmist and trust our Faithful Father with our whole heart. No matter how helpless your situation may seem, know that God will breathe new life into your dry bones. “You pulled me from the pit of destruction, out of the sticky mud. You stood me on a rock with my feet firm, and you gave me a new song, a song of praise to You. Many will see this, and they will honour and trust You, Lord God” (Psalm 40:2-3).
Trusting Him through the fire,
Tasha
Wow – this is excellent. Its written like a devotional. I read it out loud so that Isaiah could hear it to and be blessed. Keep up the amazing work 🙂
Hey Tricia! Thanks so much for the encouragement; it means a lot to me! 🙂 And the fact that you read it to Isaiah is SO special! xoxo Be blessed!
Wonderful as always, Tash. Everyone needs to hear these promises at some point in their lives. I am so grateful for the assurance we have in Him, that even at our worst moments He will refine us and strengthen us, and we will come out on the other end of it with more faith in Him.
Love you xox
Thanks for the kind comment, Holly! ❤ I completely agree with you; the Lord will refine us through the flames. Love you, girl xoxo

love it! thanks for sharing Nat
I especially like this part of what you wrote
“God promises that He will comfort us when we are weary and uphold us when our strength has been depleted. And all that He asks for in return is our trust; to believe in faith that He will bring us through the fire”
Hey Jackie!
I’m so glad you liked it! 🙂 I think trusting God is one of the most difficult things that we as humans must learn to do, especially when times get tough. But that’s when it’s MOST important to trust Him. I heard this quote that I really like, “Faith is believing in the dark, what God tells you in the Light”.
Be blessed, girl! xoxo
Tashy,
Don’t let it burden within you. Glad that your sharing/spilling all your emotions out to God and let him work within you to make everything within you to be peaceful.
God is always up to something when you are down to nothing.
Love yea.
Hey Joey,
