Thank You, Jesus.
I would be remiss not to start this blog post with those three words. Just looking back on the last 12 months, it is clear that God’s Hand has been at work in every aspect of my life. Shaping me, moulding me, refining me, guiding me, carrying me, loving me.
This past year has been both the most challenging of my life and simultaneously, the most rewarding. It’s funny how that’s often the case, isn’t it? When we are faced with trial and trepidation, we must make a choice; we can either buckle under the weight of the pressure and pain or we can use it to strengthen us emotionally, spiritually and mentally.
Sometimes, we come to a point in our lives where we just have to lay it all down at the foot of the Cross. Exhausted and broken, we tell Jesus, ‘It’s all Yours; take it and do with it what You will because I cannot carry this any longer’. And how God must LOVE those moments of genuine surrender. For it is only when we truly lay down our lives and humbly admit our weaknesses that God’s Strength and Power is made known in our circumstances.
Trust God with everything you are facing today. Lay it all at His feet and He will give you a crown of beauty for your ashes. Look to this new year with great hope and expectation for what the Lord will do in and through your life. He is Faithful. Thank You, Jesus.
This is my prayer for you for 2012:
That “the Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail” – Isaiah 58:11
